A Masterclass and Performance with Masters Acting Artist Associate Emanuele Tirelli

The Institute of the Arts Barcelona (IAB) is very pleased to announce that playwright and theatre practitioner Emanuele Tirelli will be Associate Artist by Invitation for our MA Acting students. He will be working with our students in a 3-day intensive masterclass and rehearsed reading performance.

The masterclass will be on the 11th-14th February 2020 with the performance on February 14th, in the evening.

Emanuele has developed a complete new play, “Four Times Less” written specifically for the eight MA Acting students. He will work with them on this new writing as an author and director, creating an entire performance in limited time.

“Four Times Less” is inspired by the answers to specific questions Emanuele has asked the MA students and is additionally influenced by Ágota Kristóf’s “Trilogie des jumeaux”.

About the guest: Emanuele Tirelli is a prominent playwright, writer, theatre practitioner and journalist. For the stage, he has written several plays, that include:Ofelia in the Dog Days – also published in 2017 and translated into English – Questione di un attimo, Da questa parte (ovvero quello che manca) and L’Incoronata, all texts that have been touring for years. As a writer, he has published, among others, the novels Pedro Felipe (2014), written after a residency in Barcelona and transformed in a dramaturgy produced by ntS’, and Autosalone Corallo. He has been director of the theatre series of Caracò, editing two of their books dedicated to world-wide renowned Antonio Latella and Roberto Herlitzka. As a performer, he is currently touring with his one-man (and one-musician) show on Shakespeare.

The Masterclass has been organised by Armando Rotondi, Programme Leader of MA Acting, in partnership with INIT – International Network of Italian Theatres.
