Elaine comes from Derry, Northern Ireland, and has worked extensively as a vocal teacher, opera singer and recitalist in the UK, Ireland and across mainland Europe. Elaine has a Masters in Music Performance (Opera) from the Dublin Conservatory of Music and Drama (DIT), and she also holds a bachelor in laws from Trinity College Dublin. She trained at the Grand Opera House Belfast as a Young Artist with Northern Ireland Opera, and was also was a Young Artist at the Opera Studio Molise, Italy (2021), Northern Ireland Opera Studio (2018-19), an Associate Artist at the Barcelona Opera Studio (2019), and a Barefoot Opera Young Artist (2017). Elaine studied with the esteemed Kathryn Harries, former director of the National Opera Studio, in London for 8 years. During her early career, Elaine toured extensively in the UK and Europe singing roles such as Gilda (Rigoletto), Musetta (La Bohème), Micaela (Carmen), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Frasquita (Carmen), Gretel (Hansel & Gretel), Erste Dame (Die Zauberflöte), la Virtu/Venere (L’incoronazione di Poppea) among many others. Roles she has interpreted in musical theatre include Maria (West Side Story), Eponine (Les Misérables), Cosette (Les Misérables), Maria (The Sound of Music), Mary Magdalene (Jesus Christ Superstar), Nancy (Oliver), Sandy (Grease). She currently combines teaching with singing in the Ensemble at Opera Catalunya, where she has toured extensively in Spain in their productions of Turandot, Manon Lescaut, Doña Francisquita, Il Trovatore, Madama Butterfly, Don Giovanni, Don Pasquale, Aida, Tosca, Macbeth, Die Zauberflöte and La Traviata. She is also an artist at Intermezzo Spain.
